Description
Bring back the summer flavors with this fresh Bacon “Q” glaze. As we like to say, everything is better with bacon… even ham!

Ingredients
- (1) 5 lb Kunzler Old Fashioned Ham
- 16 ounce Kunzler Original Bacon
- 2 T Reserved Bacon Fat
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- ½ ea. Onion, diced
- ½ ea. Red Pepper, diced
- ½ ea. Green Pepper, diced
- ½ C Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 T Soy Sauce
- 1 T Worcestershire Sauce
- 3 T Tomato Paste
- 2 T Brown Sugar
- 12 ounces Guava paste, cut into cubes
Directions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350F.
Step 2
Place ham in pan into the bottom rack in oven, set timer for 45 minutes.
Step 3
Place the Kunzler Original Bacon on parchment lined sheet pan.
Step 4
Place on top rack in oven, bake until crisp. (20-22 minutes).
Step 5
Reserve 2 T of the bacon fat, place into small saucepan set to medium high heat.
Step 6
Add garlic, onion, peppers, and cook until soft, about 4-6 minutes.
Step 7
Add vinegar, soy, Worcestershire, tomato paste, brown sugar, and cubes of guava paste.
Step 8
Pull Ham from the oven. Ham should register 140 F.
Step 9
Remove from pan place on cutting board. Cut several slices, arrange all pieces decoratively on plate.
Step 10
Spoon the thickened glaze over top of the ham and on the slices.
