Adding a pack of grill franks to your crock pot will provide a great lunch before having your traditional roast pork and sauerkraut with mashed potatoes for dinner.

Ingredients



  • 1 lb. Kunzler Grill Franks

  • 1 4lb pork roast
  • Salt & pepper to taste,
  • 2 T butter
  • 2 T canola oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 granny smith apples, sliced
  • 2 # sauerkraut, drained

Directions



Step 1

Salt and Pepper the pork roast on all sides. Place pan on stove at medium high.

Step 2

Add canola oil, and butter to the pan. Sear pork roast 5 minutes on each side.

Step 3

Add ½ sauerkraut to the crock pot. Plug in and set to high heat.

Step 4

Add sliced granny smith apples, onions, and finally the last of sauerkraut.

Step 5

Place the seared roast on top, place lid on for 1 ½ hour

Step 6

After 1 ½ hour add pack of Kunzler Grill Franks.

Step 7

Franks will be heated through after 45 minutes – Enjoy.

Step 8

Set the crock pot down to low heat and allow one additional hour. Check that the pork has reached an internal temperature of 145 F before serving.
