Description



Adding a pack of grill franks to your crock pot will provide a great lunch before having your traditional roast pork and sauerkraut with mashed potatoes for dinner.

Ingredients



  • Salt & Pepper
  • 4 lb. Pork roast
  • 2 T Canola oil
  • 2 T Butter
  • 2 # Sauerkraut, drained
  • 2 Granny Smith apples, sliced
  • 1 Onion, sliced
  • 1 lb. Kunzler Grill Franks

Directions



Step 1

Salt and Pepper the pork roast on all sides. Place pan on stove at medium high.

Step 2

Add canola oil, and butter to the pan. Sear pork roast 5 minutes on each side.

Step 3

Add ½ sauerkraut to the slow cooker. Plug in and set to high heat.

Step 4

Add sliced granny smith apples, onions, and finally the last of sauerkraut.

Step 5

Place the seared roast on top, place lid on and slow cook for 1 ½ hours

Step 6

After 1 ½ hours add pack of Kunzler Grill Franks.

Step 7

Franks will be heated through after 45 minutes – Enjoy.

Step 8

Set the slow cooker down to low heat and allow one additional hour. Check that the pork has reached an internal temperature of 145 F before serving.
