Kunzler bacon adds the right amount of salt to compliment the chocolate and caramel in this candy bark.

Ingredients



  • 12 oz. of your favorite Kunzler bacon

  • 2 (12 oz.) packages of milk chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups peanuts, chopped
  • 1 (10 oz.) bag soft candy caramels
  • Large flake sea salt

Directions



Step 1

Line a baking sheet with wax paper.

Step 2

Heat a large sauté pan over medium-high heat.

Step 3

Working in batches, add the bacon and cook until very crisp, about 10 to 12 minutes.

Step 4

Transfer bacon to paper towels to drain, then repeat with remaining bacon. Set aside to cool completely, then crumble.

Step 5

Place the chocolate chips in a medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 to 2 minutes, or until melted and smooth, stirring every 20 seconds.

Step 6

Pour the chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet. Tap the baking sheet on the counter to settle the chocolate into an even, smooth puddle.

Step 7

Immediately sprinkle the peanuts and bacon evenly over the chocolate.

Step 8

Allow the chocolate to fully harden, about 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 9

Meanwhile, place the caramels in a medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 to 2 minutes, until melted and smooth, stirring every 20 seconds.

Step 10

Drizzle the caramel over the bark. Sprinkle lightly with sea salt.

Step 11

Allow to cool and harden, then break into pieces.
