Description



There are brownies…and then there are bacon brownies. These ghost and pumpkin shapes may not scare anyone, but they will definitely surprise them.

Ingredients



  • 1 Package Kunzler Original Bacon
  • 1½ c. + 3 T Brown Sugar
  • 2 Sticks Butter
  • 8 oz Dark Chocolate (4 bars dark chocolate)
  • 1 t. Vanilla
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1½ c. Flour
  • 1 t. Baking Soda
  • ½ t. Sea Salt (optional)

Directions



Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 F.

Step 2

Lay out strips of bacon on sheet tray. Bake for 8 minutes, pull from oven and sprinkle 3 T of brown sugar on top.

Step 3

Bake an additional 6-8 minutes until bacon is crispy and caramelized. Chop into bite sized pieces, set aside.

Step 4

Spray and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 5

Melt 1 stick butter with the chocolate. Set aside.

Step 6

Place the remaining stick butter in mixing bowl with brown sugar and vanilla, mix until light in color.

Step 7

Stop mixer and scrape down the bowl, beat on high an additional 4 minutes.

Step 8

Slow speed down to medium, add eggs one at a time until completely incorporated. Scrape mixer.

Step 9

Add the cooled chocolate and butter, gently fold together.

Step 10

Combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Fold into the brownie batter.

Step 11

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared sheet pan.

Step 12

Place tray in the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes.

Step 13

Pull from the oven and place the chopped candied bacon evenly over the top of the set brownie.

Step 14

Return tray to the oven to finish baking additional 4-6 minutes.

Step 15

Insert paring knife, will come out with a few crumbs, not wet.

Step 16

Allow to cool slightly. Remove from the pan, remove parchment and place on cooling rack.

Step 17

Cut into desired shape and enjoy. Store in an airtight container.
