Ingredients



  • 2 cups Kunzler ham, chopped

  • 1 Kunzler Ham Shank
  • 2 (8 oz.) can northern beans
  • 8 cups water
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 cup carrots, chopped
  • 1/2 stalk celery, chopped
  • 1 tsp. garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. mustard powder
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 package instant mashed potatoes

Directions



Step 1

Place ham bone and water in a large pot over high heat, cooking until all the meat has fallen off the bone. Remove ham bone.

Step 2

Rinse beans under cool water. Place beans, carrots, celery, onion, garlic, mustard and bay leaves in the pot. Stir well, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer on low for 1 hour.

Step 3

Add chopped ham and simmer for another 30 minutes. Add instant mashed potatoes for desired thickness.
